Background:
When I started racing 250s at 17 I didn’t expect to finish 3rd in my debut race and with regular top 5 positions it was a great start to my career. I then moved into racing 600s, again with good results, constantly finishing in the top 5 and with a handful of wins, I had a terrific year considering what a leap it was from my 250 of the previous season. The 2003 season which I entered the Yamaha R6 Cup Championship has probably been the most intense year so far with many new tracks to learn and riding almost standard bikes it has proven hard work. I have still managed to finish consistently and gain some top ten results which has given me the confidence and determination for next year when I will certainly be looking for regular podium finishes.
